While I understand where you're coming from with the "it's back after several weeks and nothing happens" thing, it's not really the series' plot fault, but rather the retarded screening choices of the TV stations involved. The "last big fight" actually happened merely 3 episodes ago, and someone who comes fresh to Kekkaishi and watches all in one go up until now will not have the slightest problems with the show's current pacing. It's roughly the same with those who follow weekly manga publications. It's frustrating when the plot progresses at "a sail's pace" and almost nothing happens after you've waited a week, but when read in one go, the plot flows rather well. That's why I can't understand phrases like "ever since Gen's death", as almost no time at all has passed from the series perspective.
