Minorin and Kitamura are cuter than I imagined, while Ryuuji isn't as scary. That parrot... is as scary as ever. Especially at night. D: And Aisaka's so cute in braids :3 Hmm. Speaking purely from the perspective of the novels, I think the rough order of story quality as the novels progress is great->good->average->masterpiece->masterpiece->great. I don't know that they have enough episodes to get into the masterpiece sections of the novels though, and there are people who disagree with me on the average and masterpiece sections, so take this with a grain of salt.
