Assorted Doujin News and BMW Act 4 Translation Update

November 22nd, 2008

  • Fly-Systems has announced an upcoming expansion for Magical Battle Arena adding in Vita, Hayate, and StrikerS era Nanoha, among I assume a few others.
  • Fortune Summoners is a terribly boring game. I played it for the better part of an hour and was still fighting slimes and my party was more concerned with falling off ledges than helping me club the millionith slime to death.
  • AQLoop is releasing MELancholy of DYnast, the TWilight refrAIN OST for next Comiket.
  • Werk has announced that they’ll be releasing a ‘minor’ expansion for Battle Moon Wars Act 4 that’ll add in Saber Lily, a younger version of Haruna, and, god willing, will fix some of the more egregious crashing issues.
  • They’re also releasing an OST in a couple months, which is only notable because the cover is… wow. Kohaku especially looks smoking.
  • Speaking of BMW, translation of Act 4 is about 2/3rds finished and through the first major arc (Hollow Ataraxia: stages 37-46), so only 6 stages and the Dictionaries to go. It’s still rough in places, and I’ve been waiting for Werk to finish the numerous NUMEROUS bugs that I cannot before I bug someone to hack the exe for the remaining stuff.

6 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • Aside from changing the voice and the character art, just what might be different about Nanoha-A compared to the previous Nanoha?

My guess is that in the anime, adult (i.e. 17 year old) Nanoha is a lot more powerful, but maintaining game balance would mitigate against that change.

Just gave Fortune Summoners a try. Found it quite fun myself, though I spent way too long on day 4 due to my not-quite-enough japanese skills, it is a bit on the repetitive side though. In the four days I encounted Green Slimes, Snakes, Bats, and Blue Slimes, oh and a few Bees-that-kill-you-to-death-in-seconds (bit long, but that would probably make a good band name).

Shame it’s a bit on the RPG-lite side of an action RPG. Can’t fiddle with your stats/health/mana as you level up. Half the items seem to be things that either heal you, or give you temporary status effects. Of the rest (basicly weapons and clothing), most of the clothing seems to just change the colour of your characters only a few bits improve defense, and the weapons just add a few more points of damage. Logical enough, but it’d be nice if they threw off a particle effect, or even changed the weapon you used’s colour or something.

wait if they plan to change the younger nanoha to the 17 year old nanoha what about fate? the should change fate to the 17 year old fate as well.

Vita is in~ i’m waiting for Signum~ I think hayate would be deadly in the game.

  • Shiro Long Tail says:

I wonder how different Hayate will be from Noelle(sp).

Do you still play MBA Aroduc? I haven’t really touched it in a while since it’s kinda boring without non-cpu opponents.

  • Aroduc says:

Not at all. I don’t think it’s even installed any more.

  • Roxas XIII says:
