God, I hate you so much.

Man, sleep in one weekend and like… three shows appear before you even take a shower.

Impressions:

Boy, I can’t wait until we finally get out of this whiny Luke phase and onto pariah Luke before settling into wannabe martyr Luke. The big draw this episode was the first of many showdowns between Sync and Largo. Funnily enough, it played out pretty much like the game too, with Sync absolutely ruining everybody’s day while Largo is only really fast enough to hit Anise. They moved the Curse Seal scene to this fight, as expected. They also added a little totally meaningless scene in Chesedonia with the Dark Wings where they think Luke is Asche, then ninja teleport away when they realize their mistake. I have absolutely no idea what they’re doing with those clowns. I was a bit disappointed that they skipped the fight against Legretta, but she’s probably the nastiest boss on Hard+ anyway thanks to the general suicidal nature of your party. Also, I don’t think I’ve uploaded that one yet.

Mostly though, we’ve hit the height of Luke’s arrogance and general antisocialness, so even though they did a good job with that, I still want to strangle him all over again. Stupid little spoiled jerkoff. At least that’ll be dealt with next episode. I did think that they laid on the already thick foreshadowing about Van even heavier this episode than in the game, with Tear calling Luke Van’s puppet. Yes, he’s evil. He appears with all the bad guys in the OP and is a Sith Lord. This should not come as a surprise to anybody. Just one more episode of totally insufferable Luke though. I’m counting down the days now.

FYI, there may be a little scheduling wonkiness next week. Of the two Saturday broadcasts, one is being bumped and then a double header being shown the next week. The other is going on as expected, but who knows on availability there. If it doesn’t show up on Saturday, episode 8 also airs on prime time on the following Friday.
