Asura Cryin’ #03 — Executioner Shuri
April 15th, 2009
Man, why didn’t they start this show here?
Ha, a direct stream rip. Feels nostalgic.
Impressions:
Whoa ho ho there. Where’d this episode come from? I’ll admit, I spent the first half of it zoning out and not really paying attention. Tomo whined about the suitcase, ran around, Kurosaki teased him, fancy phancy Phantasy Star direction tricks, and then whammo… Kurosaki literally starting bursting forth with guns and high explosives and laid waste to the entire area for a full five minutes. If she had summoned the Seventh Holy Scripture, I’m pretty sure I’d have paused it to applaud. Okay, so the second half was mostly ol whose-his-face’s Asura Machine rampaging, but I’m not picky when it comes to violence. Then Misao made her dramatic comeback and literally ripped the bloody thing open to find his sister in stasis inside. Obviously, the implication is that Misao is sleeping inside Tomo’s Asura Machine. Oh, and Tomo signed a contract in blood with Booby McPoses-A-Lot. She’s going to be living in Tomo’s house too now, as if the cyborg full of guns and ghost weren’t enough of a harem.
Like I said though, the first half was the usual boredom. Booby’s posing was also rather out of place in more ways than one. Priests taking aim… and here’s a cheesecake shot! And now another! The giant wolf-kraken monster flashback was also not particularly well handled. It would have worked better as just one long one instead of randomly cutting back and forth. It was obvious that it wasn’t going to end well for the person mysteriously missing during the present time, so why bother dragging that out?
I probably need to rewatch the first half of this (and maybe the previous episode too) if they keep up this kind of action. Next week is a new pair of boobs and even more boom though, so the show may actually hit its stride here and move from something I’m watching out of general boredom/obligation to something I’m actually enjoying. We’ll see how indicative of the actual episode that preview was though.
Preview:
Girls with guns.

The first half was totally out of whack. The second half however was definitely nice. What are the producers really planning anyway? I’m not really sure but exactly how do you feel about the second half?
