New Season Disclaimer:

I try to watch at least the first episode of every new show in a season. However, do not expect anything I say to be fair or balanced. I value my own entertainment above all else and there are some genres or methods of presentation that I just plain do not like and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. I’ll attempt to at least make a cursory explaination of what did and did not please me about each show, but it’s just a simple fact of life that my tastes are mine alone. Feel free to express your own opinions in the comments, just keep it under control. This is just television after all.

Impressions:

How… unusual. We have the pair of lesbians who kiss each other rather frequently, the owner that the writers are desperately trying to sell as an adult in the most egregiously false age labelling ever, and the alcoholic lesbian pedophile molester. There are two other characters, but they’re barely worth mentioning, which is somewhat pathetic because one of them is the main character. Compared to the sexual predator, Kana’s whining is a bit tough to take. She’s also the expert of the buzzkill. Everybody’s partying and having fun! "Oh, but I am a poor waif with nothing to my name and no family. So sad. So very very sad." This show would be improved immensely with just a single bullet to her bitchy skull.

It was mostly a pretty enjoyable episode though. A tad generic at times, and I’m not sure how long either of the lesbian schticks will hold out, but I chuckled more than I did at pretty any other premiering show outside of Juuden and SZS. I realize that’s not setting the bar particularly high, but I’ll take what I can get. Production values were average. I hate the OP, but Horie Yui does a great job being a sexual deviant singing the ED. I also have absolutely no idea where the show is actually going to be heading since the preview for next week featured an alien invasion and Kana failing to ride a bike. I’m not sure how those two are connected just yet. Maybe I’ll just end up covering all three of the Sunday shows. That’ll be… uh… fun.
