Princess Lover! #03 — High Society

July 19th, 2009

Believe me, drugs may help here.

Apologies if this is a little discombobulated. My Chinese take out last night culminated in about a half dozen Hail Marys to the porcelain god and a host of other less than amusing symptoms. I wasn’t even aware that I was allergic to anything or sensitive to MSG. In any case, I’m still a bit hopped up on benadryl which puts the world into something of a nice hazy fog.

Impressions:

Meh. Not a particularly interesting episode either. The fight at the start was pathetic and the rest of the episode was just Teppei’s harem (mostly Charlotte) training him to be a proper member of high society because Seika’s a stuck-up bitch. The only thing less interesting than a pair of stills that are supposed to be a sword fight, is a montage to make Teppei an elegant lady. I think it would have drastically improved things if he had been trying to get into a woman’s only event and they had to put him in drag. Ha. Now try getting that image out of your heads.

Speaking of stills and pathetic fights, sadly, I think GoHands’ budget is running low, as the art was pretty abysmal this week. Hands and faces looked consistently terrible, to say nothing of Charlotte and Sylvia’s questionable bra choices. Even Madonna’s cone bra didn’t achieve quite that much separation. You could house a family of 12 Cubans in their cleavage. Really though… what are these, flippers? The inbreeding in Japan’s nobility must be getting really godawful if they’re producing seal people. They did overanimate Yuu’s tea service after the CM break, so they’re still randomly tossing money around, but the art was still pretty dodgy there as well.

Brief Summary:

Teppei tries to use the foil like a kendo sword and fails miserably, but Yuu shows up with a real weapon for him and they have another go. The two end up with a foil in the neck and a blade in the cleaveage, but Teppei calls it his loss. Sylvia and Charlotte both enjoyed the fight, and Charlotte ends up glomping him and then bouncing on his crotch in excitement.

The next day, the dynamic double Ds want to bring Teppei to the hang out for the bourgeoise, but Seika gets pissy and declares him too uncivilized. After a brief argument, they get her to agree that if Teppei shapes up, he can sit in the treehouse and spit on the poor people. The girls train him in various things, and he bonds a little bit with Yuu because she reminds him of his mother. Smooth, Teppei. Charlotte also uses kisses as her reward for progress. What a tease.

The big day arrives and Teppei blows everybody away. Afterwards, Seika relents and admits that he was able to improve, but that it ain’t over yet and now Teppei’s got to prove himself in a real debutante coming out party of his own. Oh boy.

The fight really could have been longer. It’s a shame as I was looking forward to that part. Not real sure why Charlotte and Sylvia even care what Seika thinks.

One question. Are Teppei and Sylvia still engaged? Seems like Charlotte is getting away with quite a bit. Not that I’m complaining but it’s a little odd how Syvia just stands around.

I did enjoy this episode. This is a nice relief from some of the other showings this week.

LOLZ. Just because Teppei’s ridiculously (or possibly) going to be absurdly rich, he gets a harem treatment like this!?

    I’m so jealous… ~_~

Anyways, this show still proves to have good production. Come on Teppei, where’s your REVENGE plot? Wish he has a finshing move like ougi hissatsu ryutsuisen kaiho or something… lolz

  • Irie says:

Have to say Teppie was a far superior character when he was more decisive. He seems to be led around too much. As to the harem, money talks but Charlotte seems to genuinely like him. Sylvia is an unknown but she’s probably never met someone on her social level that can rival her sword skills.

I really do hope the show follow’s through on it’s original plot and not just degrade into just another harem.

  • Mouse says:

Dear God…they have mitten hands. Sad. Even more sad that I’m pulling for Charlotte to be his pincushion when I know this show will end with no conclusive “one” girl as his ball & chain.

I also want to know wtf seika’s hair is transforming into

  • The Phantom says:

Ok this episode is almost a filler, but then the show is still solid so I will stick to it.

    SABER FTW!!!

No wonder Charlotte’s such a tease. Makes sense that the VA also does Ino from Naruto, who is also a visual tease after the timeskip.

Sylvia being done by Revy’s VA from Black Lagoon is another shocker. LOLZ!
