well you can’t expect too good to be done since Akiyuki Shinbo is currently directing Bakemonogatari too. and it seems that he’s putting more on Bakemonogatari than Zetsubou Sensei @_@

Yeah. They only started it during the OVAs though, and that was far more irritating with the full screen flashes. I’m hoping they’ve gotten it out of their system after two episodes.

I still say that Kiri (the hikkikomori) and Matoi (the stalker) are the two best characters in the show :D

The beeping is Chiri’s visible punctuation (you can see it in the lower right corner), which is part of her 5 or 6 shticks (Chiri gets twice as many weird things as anyone else), so I don’t think it’s going away.

I enjoyed the first segment quite a bit, particularly Harumi’s Olympics leaping, and the ‘team of homicidal maniacs’ murder run. With added Ai.
