I think the brief action sequence is exactly what makes the first season so fun. It hits you fast and hard and it is shocking. It’s a battle of wits, not strength. For prolonged battle scenes with endless narratives, watch Bleach or Sacred Blacksmith. And yes, I’m DTB fan.

I liked it. It gave the nice background of peace, happy memories, and innocence before the reaper swooped down to take it all away. I wonder if the “plucky photographer” is going to take up the mantle of Louise from Gundam 00 before the end. From her perspective, at this point the guy who “saved her” is a cold blooded killer. And I agree, after all the only thing he did this ep was kill one of the last characters left alive from last season…

Bones seems to like to start their shows with silly intro episodes that have little to do with the rest of the season. I’m going to give this show more time.

Well, I’m relatively certain that at least Omni will pick this up, and Kiddy Girl and Kampfer are also Thursday shows… as well as Asura Cryin’ possibly getting bumped to Thursdays on some days, all of which I think will be less covered. Not that there isn’t merit in annoying Omni by covering it, but I wasn’t that much of a fan of the first season, and prefer lighter stuff anyway.

I wouldn’t be surprised if not many people decided to pick this one up. Second seasons nowadays don’t seem to be living up to their predecessors. Hell, I haven’t seem much cover on Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, then again, that’s probably due to the whole “recap” thing. Still, something like this might be up your alley…
