The guidebook, "Shakagan no Shana II no Subete" is just that, a guidebook. It was sold seperately for 1,890 yen and includes 168 pages worth of character profiles, episode summaries and other information. The DVD containing both Shana-tan Revenge and a 3 minute "trailer" for Shana S was just a bonus with it. It was same with Hecate-tan being included on a bonus DVD with the first season's guidebook. Thankfully, you can skip the meh first arc of the first season and watch the rather good movie instead, the rest of the first season up to the final arc is rather good. The second season gets stuck in basically filler hell for most of its run, but the Pheles arc, Margery flashback arc, and Sabrac arcs (basically the middle half of the season) are worth watching too. It’s a lot like Index in that there are good arcs and bad arcs in both seasons.
