Arakawa Under the Bridge #02 — Oculophilia

The eyes have it.
Impressions:
Well, this was certainly more enjoyable than last week’s episode (outside of the horribly sung OP), but by the same token, the visuals took a bit of a hit. Kou’s screaming was shuned off in a different direction for the first half of the episode (mostly freaking out about what to talk to Nino about) and a lot of the second half’s humor was "We drew some crazy-ass character designs, HA HA!" I’m counting that as a step up. Plus, Koyasu is one of my favorite VAs, so it’s always a pleasure to see him as a gun toting cross-dressing nun. Or is it? I’m not really sure actually. Aside from Koyasu, the bath bits were pretty enjoyable, especially Nino’s "mission complete" on dressing herself over her towel. Kou could still stand to take some valium just to shut down those inner monologues though.
In any case, while the dialogue was a little snappier, we’ve gotten to the point where I’ve developed a nervous twitch each time that they zoom in on Kou’s eye. The first third or so was also just Nino and Kou sitting on a couch talking. They pulled away to various things in Kou’s imagination, but compared to the outdoor scenes, that entire sequence was really rather visually sparse at best, ugly at worst. The second half improved that a bit, but the jumps between the lush detailed backgrounds and the ugly spartan cutaway reaction gags is still rather unpleasant.
I’m still not sure what I’m going to do with Sundays yet… and there are still more bishies yet to come, but… well… meh. I’ll figure things out eventually.

IDK,….it kinda looks good and it kinda doesnt. The main reason to why im not all that excited bout watching it is bc of the star faced guy and the Kappa. What the hell is the star faced guy suppost to be anyways? Is he even human? Idk,…still waiting to see if it gets better.
