GIANT KILLING #01 — FOOTBAAAAAAAAAALL!!!!

April 3rd, 2010

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH…

Impressions:

I seem to be especially sarcastic today. It must be something I ate.

This was basically exactly as espected. The art was ugly, the characters were lame, the animation poor at best, and the plot took forever just to get to the point where the SUPER AWESOME BETRAYER player chose his team based on their sprint times and his cocky attitude. Because he’s awesome. In between it, we got about 10 minutes of surprisingly adept English explaining the awesomeness of the whole amateur versus pro leagues. I think the most notable thing about this show was the music, which was some strange blend of elevator music and probably some kind of Celtic flute band that you would find playing in the local shopping mall next to the Cinnabon.

I sort of hate to be brief, but this really was just yet another sports show. The difference between most others is that the characters are slightly older and the coach’s tragedy is that he’s too awesome, so people hate him already. Beyond that, they’ve got the boyish star, the pissy vet, and all manner of hair styles in between. It’s certainly no Mighty Ducks at any rate.

Preview:

Tasu-whoever starts coaching his new team.
