Unlimited Tsun Works.
Impressions:
Well, this certainly isn’t going to go down as one of A-1’s AIC (brainfart) prettier shows. In their defense, they’re at least trying to be ambitious with the animation a lot of the time, but it’s clear that the budget or manpower or something is just not there. This is… not a very well animated show at all. The art is frequently… shall we say… constrained by the budget as well. At least the music’s rather good, at least outside of the OP. Ouch. Good lord, ouch. Why not just scrape your fingernails on a chalkboard for a minute and a half? Or get out a porcelain plate and start scratching a fork on it. At least then you wouldn’t be compelled to put out a single later.
Takumi ends up being a bit more of a likeable harem lead than most simply because he’s already figured out the whole tsundere thing and doesn’t hold it against either of his current women. There’s even a tsuntage of Fumino harumphing towards the start. She is rather adorable, especially since everybody sees through her already. What does annoy me about him is the endless narration. The parts where he shut up were far more enjoyable than listening to him drone on about the history of his school or how Fumino was never honest about anything. Unfortunately, about half the episode was dominated by the wonderful precept of listening to Takumi tell us about anything instead of showing us. This is Media 101, AIC. Ieyasu was also torture for every single second he was on screen. Horie Yui popping up, saying one line, and then disappearing for minutes at a time was unintentionally amusing though, like some kind of stealth VA hitman showing up just to keep you on your toes.
It wasn’t too bad though, and on those rare times that Takumi would shut up, it was enjoyable enough, although certainly doesn’t even come close to threatening to covert anybody over who doesn’t like this brand of light comedy. Certainly something best enjoyed brainlessly. More importantly, I don’t have class on Tuesdays and the only other thing airing today is K-On, which I’m not touching with a Rickenbacker 4001.

Hm? AIC is animating this, not A-1.
And here I thought we’d already been treated to the worst OP/ED of the season after watching kiss x sis. Er, yeah, nevermind.
