Mitsudomoe #03 — Failure To Communicate
July 16th, 2010
I finally started remembering names!
Impressions:
Ah, that’s much better. Despite not really being too much about the triplets this week, this was back to the energy an visual humor of the first episode. Maybe Campanella and this show exist in balance. When one has a good episode, the other must have a dull one. This introduced four new characters through three segments, super popular everyman Shinya, 69-boy Yuudai, occult fangirl Matsuoka, and the Marui dad. The two things that dragged this episode down a bit though, were that every single joke from start to finish was about one person misunderstanding the other and then showing their imagination, and that Mitsuoka isn’t terrible amusing, even when paired with Hitoha. Her jokes were just literally the same thing over and over and over and over again, and they weren’t even all that funny to begin with.
The first segment was Yuudai wanting to get his hands on Hitoha’s book, which Shinya misunderstood to be about Hitoha’s panties… and later his own underwear when she pretended to plant her book in his stuff. The second part had Hitoha try to make friends and accidentally hook up with Matsuoka, who thinks that Hitoha’s some kind of awesome monk in training while Hitoha thinks Matsuoka’s in love with her. The final part had the girls forget their panties during swim-day and their father try to bring them, but accusations of stealing and wearing the panties abounded, yada yada yada, Mitsuba ends up locked in a shed. It’s a fitting punishment for the little psycho.
