Mitsudomoe #06 — Pants-On-Head

August 6th, 2010

That almost sounds like a Welsh village.

Impressions:

An overall decent episode, but the first and fourth segments were pretty lacking. The first was Futaba unable to wait for the athletics festival and forcing her father to play every single role and person (including a relay). It was just long and tedious. The fourth was just another little game of one-upsmanship between Miku and Mitsuba and picked up a little bit of steam towards the end, but the two of them don’t have all that much comic chemistry together. They’re both basically the exact same character, with slightly less sadism on one end, and they really only have a single joke about their claims of maturity backfiring through their segments. Repeating that joke ad nauseam does not make it funnier.

Thankfully, the middle two parts were a lot better. The cavalry battle in part two still didn’t live up to the gold standards of Punie or School Rumble, but it was at least decent and fun to see Futaba turn into a feral horse and chew on Mitsuba’s ‘breasts.’ Matsuoka was also a lot better this time around, although the third segment about her trying to protect Yabe by inking his body was really short. Yabe should continue to stay out of the show and just be a prop for supplying the girls with men’s underwear for jokes as needed. At least she’s someone who can actually get under Hitoha’s skin. And isn’t afraid to strip a man and stuff his boxers onto another girl’s head. That’s a rare ‘talent’ that you don’t see often these days.

And thus the young man learned the importance of carrying his rape whistle at all times.

…Am I the only one vaguely paranoid about even looking at these threads or commenting on this series? It feels like I’ll be put on some list just for being associated with it…

  • Kaisos says:

This show wouldn’t be nearly as unwatchable for me if the kids actually looked 11-12 instead of four.

  • Anonymous says:

I’m not constantly worrying about the age or appearance of a cartoon character and what others would think of me for watching it and thus I really enjoy this show.

Some people really should lighten up, it’s not like they’re real little girls.

  • Tons says:

Nice episode overall, but a bit more bland compared to the old ones, hope the next will be better. :D

  • Mesousa says:

Soujirou randomly getting arrested during the festival was freaking pointless.

  • arigatou says:

Scary, I’m glad that in our country, a guy that lifts a little girl or even go to a school look like that, won’t get arrested.
In the near future, Hitoha can be a waifu of her sensei.
