Future Diary ‘Pilot’ DVD

December 9th, 2010

I figure saying something now will head off responding to comments later.

Impressions:

Let me stress that this is not a pilot for an upcoming show. It’s just a seven minute special released with one of the manga volumes. There are no plans at this time for a full series and if/when there is one, the cast/studio/everything will most likely not be the same.

I can’t say that I’m overly impressed though. Something about watching some kid receive power and spending the whole thing freaking out and sobbing makes me want to throttle the little brat. With only seven minutes, they don’t really do anything more than introduce the basic premise and put together a montage of shots of Yukiteru looking traumatized and certainly nothing particularly impressive or interesting. "Here’s some cell phones that tell the future. Here’s a bomber. Here’s the crazy girl that wants to jump your bones for no reason. THE FIGHT TO BECOME GOD BEGINS." Uh, sure.

He also drinks the world’s most staining milk. Or perhaps that was bleach. That would go a long way to explaining a lot of things.

    We Have Been Trolled.

  • Ransom says:

Well… If they ever decide to make an anime of this, Yukiteru looking traumatized and whining about everything is what you’ll get… It takes more than two thirds of the manga for him to start behaving like a man. And he still has his relapses every once in a while. The star of the show is our beloved Yandere Yuno :D

  • Kaisos says:

Why can the manga I like never get decent adaptations?

I fear for the time when Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer finally gets an anime.

    • Travis says:

      Amen to that.
Maybe it’s just being wounded too much, but I can only be mortified at the subject of such an adaptation. Characters butchered, plot removed- I’ll stick with Yuuhi and Sami as I remember ’em, all things said and done.

    • Ransom says:

That’s not going to happen any time soon anyway, for some reason, the really good things are not mainstream, and hence, not liked by many people, that’s what happens with Hoshi no Samidare

  • The Phantom says:

Hummm I would really love to watch an anime adaptation of this, Yandere = Win.

Hopefully whoever takes up the adaptation (if ever) make it as bloody and as violent as possible.

  • Hinano says:

I saw kissing so I went and watched it
    yandere hoi hoi
I have no idea wtf was going on
