Changes confuse and anger me.

As some of you may know, the Comiket format was changed a bit this year. Usually, all the porn and doujin games get tucked on the last day, but to forego that chaos, the games this year are tucked with the all-purpose general section (which includes music, tabletop stuff, and not so much comics) on day 2, while the girly girl stuff got moved to day 1. While probably useful for general crowd crush dispersal purposes, it does make browsing through the catalog looking for neat games a bit more of a trial than usual. Last Comiket, it was simply a matter of browsing through the porn until I found the games (searching is for weenies!). This time, everything was more or less haphazardly thrown together. There are some clusters, but they’re often seperated by a swathe of Touhou remix CDs or Queen’s Blade modules. I did find the best Comiket ad ever though. Kunio was totally about to assault her with that pipe, and knows that he’s been caught and is just wondering whether or not to still go ahead with the beating.

This is nowhere even close to a comprehensive list, just the set of things I saw as I flipped through that caught my eye for one reason or another and had some kind of note about a C74 release. I spent maybe 10-15 seconds scanning the page before moving on because there are a crapload of groups. There are some things that I noted, groaned at, and then ignored… like RefRain just getting an updated trial version for the third time, and there are always a glut of pretty mediocre shmups pouring out of every oriface possible. And of course, some things I just ignored out of spite, like Scarlet Weather Rhapsody’s announced 1.3 patch. Even if they add China, I think I’ll still be annoyed at them for all the bad game design decisions left in SWR.
