This show has a higher concentration of urine jokes than anything else I’ve ever seen.

Impressions:

The episode needed entirely more Guchuko. Her two scenes stole the show. There was quite a bit of Potemayo amusement to be had, but she’s just plain strange when she’s not angrily barking at people. They actually did do some pretty decent jokes out of Cheerleader Moriyama… the urinal one and the wind one especially but really… Guchuko is where it’s at.

 

Summary:

It’s the hot autumn as two of the boys from class are walking home. One (Muta… Mutou?) sees a woman carrying a giant fluffy dog and imagines Potemayo running along. His friend keeps rambling on about random things as Mutou gets distracted again, this time by a bakery. He goes in and starts feeling the baked goods while imagining Potemayo… including a bald old man’s head.

Back at the school, Kyo, Nene and Mikan are talking about the foods they love during the season. Moriyama walks in and Mikan immediately turns to him and proclaims her love for everything about Autumn.

Potemayo is hanging out with Moriyama, doing her usual sketching, and Muta starts fantasizing about her again. He schemes to distract Moriyama by asking him for help and then tries to pet Potemayo, but she flashes her teeth at him instead. Instead he tries to come up as a nice guy, but comes off as a creepy stalker, frightening Potemayo, who relieves herself all over Moriyama’s head. He goes to wash his hair while Muta and Potemayo beg to be spanked in punishment.

Mutou offers Moriyama an extra uniform of his to wear while his own is drying off. Moriyama hangs up his clothes and leaves Potemayo to guard them. The clothes that Mutou gave him though… are a cheerleader’s uniform from Mutou’s club. Eventually the whole class catches on and starts giggling about it. Mikan especially is freaking out and saying how wrong it is.

Back in the classroom, Moriyama is daydreaming out the window while other students run back and forth creating gusts of wind. Moriyama covers his skirt from blowing upwards and exposing himself to the relief of all involved.

The protagonist team is eventually heading to the library to study when Moriyama detours into the bathroom. Mikan unthinkingly follows him in before realizing her mistake. Inside the bathroom though, Moriyama traumatizes some poor guy by using a urinal in his skirt.

At lunch, Kyo is talking about how funny the skirt is on Moriyama while holding out food which is being snatched by a tongue from up above. It’s Guchuko of course. Nene asks Mikan about liking Moriyama and she goes off into an overblown daydream while Nene and Kyo roll their eyes. Guchuko meanwhile tries to take the opportunity to steal her lunch with a scythe before Kyo chastises her.

Moriyama’s clothes (and Potemayo’s underwear) are finally dry, and while he just puts on his clothes, she immediately pulls her underwear over her head and rolls up into a ball and disturbs Guchuko’s nap. Back in the classroom, the girls are all fawning over Potemayo while Mutou is seething with jealousy.

On the way home, the body temperature meter starts raising until it hits 40 C, at which point Moriyama dumps Potemayo off his head and it starts dropping again.

Over in Mikan’s bathtub, she’s having another daydream about her shining destiny with Moriyama… until she passes out and is taken away by the paramedics.

At Moriyama’s house, Potemaya is dancing in front of the TV to an exercise program or Pythagoras Switch or something when Moriyama thinks about making curry for dinner that night.

Heading out to go shopping, Potemayo is chanting to herself in her nonsense language and then starts yipping at some poor Mafia-looking guy. When he looks over, he suffers from a heart attack and keels over. Moriyama straps her into the shopping cart and tells her to be quiet, so she holds her breath until he tells her it’s okay to breath. She then goes off into her own little world (or maybe it’s the store music?) and is humming along to the dance theme from the TV before. A kid sees her and thinks she’s a strange cat, so grabs her and takes off running.

To prevent further kidnappings, she’s moved to Moriyama’s head… where she falls asleep and falls off. She’s next moved to inside his jacket, and they head off to Mikan’s shop. Potemayo is glaring at her from Moriyama’s chest, but she still manages to go into another romantic daydream. Mikan’s father comes over and tries to figure out what Potemayo is. Potemayo goes back to being quiet/holding her breath, so he does the same… but he gives out first and releases a cloud of terrible breath on her, knocking her out.

Mikan’s mother knows all about Mikan’s crush on Moriyama and tries to ingratiate her to him. She has some weird memories of what Kyo thought Moriyama’s parents were, complete with shadow boxing. She snaps out of it and gives Moriyama his apples. He tells her “thank you” which causes her to spurt blood and be taken away by the paramedics again.

 FINALLY we get to Gucuko, who is sitting in a tree, stomach grumbling and thinking of food when suddenly Kyo’s face comes into mind. She’s embarrassed, so starts flailing wildly, cutting the tree branch and dropping it on Muta.

Back with Moriyama’s curry adventure, he starts following the instructions, but Potemayo is off and running and has already finished making her curry almost instantly.

Back in Mikan’s bath (this is like, her third of the first two episodes), she’s thinking about Moriyama again, causing yet another nosebleed and flailing, which earns a chastising from her mother.

Potemayo is playing with cards as they get ready for bed. As they go to sleep, Moriyama thinks about what Potemayo is, and decides that it doesn’t matter to him. The next morning… there’s another stain on the mattress and Potemayo is apologizing again.
