Mokke #01 — When There’s Something Strange in the Neighborhood
October 2nd, 2007
You should probably spring for the real Ghostbusters instead of these girls.
Impressions:
I’m honestly tempted to write “lame and boring” and just leave it at that, but I like to think that I’m more eloquent of a person than that even as I reach the sixth show of the day with one more to go. Damn you, Tuesday.
The art is very basic and pretty uninteresting. Very few textures are used for any of the characters, which gives it a feel like it belongs about 10 years ago and in a “great literature adapatation” series. Animation is also pretty minimalistic, there’s just little interesting to look at through the entire thing.
There’s just absolutely no energy in the show at all, which is okay if you want to sit and relax to something, but I watch to be entertained. With no really active attempt to draw me in and relatively low production values everywhere except the music, I spent most of the episode more antsy to go back to playing Soul Nomad than anything else.
No summaries for the first episodes. I write as I watch, and I don’t know if I’ll care about a show until after the first episode.

I don’t think it’s even meant for relaxing. The show is just boring. Ugh.
