Prism Ark #03 — Ninja, Panties, and Fangirls

I will not complain about changing the source. I will not complain about changing the source. I will not complain about changing the source. I will not complain about changing the source. I will not complain about changing the source.

*ahem* Forgot to change the template title there… how shameful…

Impressions:

Okay, I’m resigned at this point to Prism Ark not really being Prism Ark.

That said, this was a pretty awesome episodes. Every single fight scene… and there were four… was very well done, full of humor excellent choreography and excellent animation. They managed to get the Fel ear-pull in too, which made me all kinds of happy. Kisarov also got to make one of his overblown awesome speeches too. Let’s not even mention the bad German combined with the bad Engrish. I think I choked a little bit when that came up. I’m a little confused by the pacing here, as Filia (and Hyaweh’s sword) are still MIA and we’re theoretically already a quarter of the way through the theoretical 12/13 episode run. Maybe the CD/DVD boxes for this one are just really putzed up or something.

Anyway, I have almost no complaints with this episode. It’s not the Prism Ark that I know and love, but it was still very entertaining and great fun to watch. I’ll rip out the four fight scenes and link in the Fel ear-pull CG in a little bit (plus getting a cap of the German Prism… which dumb MPlayer missed), so check back in an hour or so for the full set.

CG Watch!
Only one this week… sigh… at least there finally is one. Sorta…

Hyaweh vs Priecia

Hyaweh vs Karin

Hyaweh vs Everything But The Kitchen Sink

When last we left, Hyaweh was picking a fight with Priecia. Her attacks are all over the place, but Hyaweh effortlessly dodges and a ton of the attacks end up flying into the girls, knocking them over and showing their nether regions for the rest.

Hyaweh keeps dodging, saying how amazing she is, then leaps in front of her and tells her again that they shouldn’t be fighting. He calls her emerald eyes beautiful. She gets annoyed and jumps back, but trips over some golem debris. He offers his hand to pick her up, but she slaps it away and rushes to attack again.

Kisaraov intercepts her blade and tells her to stand down before disarming her and turning to Hyaweh.

He welcomes Hyaweh to the academy and gives quite the welcoming speech for Hyaweh. Karin leaps in as well about what they’ll be learning and smacks him forward to give a few words to the crowd.

A couple of the new girls think that he’s stealing Priecia’s spotlight, but one thinks that he’s pretty cool. Acty is all for the new Hyaweh world order… so Jung drops a wash basin on his head.

Hyaweh isn’t really sure what to say for his speech. Karin gives him the whole “you’re a man, do it” and starts to walk away.

Hyaweh tries to stop her… trips on golem debris and ends up grabbing her pants and pulling them off. Kisarov gives him the thumbs up for his work.

Karin stands angrily for a moment as Hyaweh tries to apologize and then turns her blade to Hyaweh. She’s a bit better on the attack than Priecia, but Hyaweh effortlessly dodges all of it. She still gets him at sword point, but then pulls back and stabs the wall right above his hair.

He thanks her for holding back… but then says that this is no good… and closes her robe so that her thighs and panties are no longer in his face. He compliments her on how she wasn’t embarrassed, but this pisses Karin off enough to combine her swords into a spear and blast Hyaweh at point blank range.

A little later, Bridget wanders cluelessly through the school, thinking about Priecia and her fight with Hyaweh. She loses herself in thought… and doesn’t notice that she’s talking to herself about what to do with them when Fel walks in and joins her monologue. She finally notices and knocks Fel back in surprise.

Bridget asks why Fel is even here… and Fel lets her know that they’re roomates. The two officially introduce themselves to the other. Fel wants to know why Bridget is so interested in Priecia. Bridget waffles, but Fel says that of course it’s obvious why, with how famous Priecia is. She then gets distracted by other things going on in the national gossip scene and saying how amazing whose-his-face the bishi mage/priest who will totally not end up being one of the evil masterminds. Fel is as distracted and ADD as ever.

The two chat onward about Hyaweh and other things. Fel only does a little bit of ear waving, which makes me a little sad.

That evening, casualwear Priecia stands on the balcony and thinks about her fight with Hyaweh. There’s no way it’s over, she thinks.

The next day, as Hyaweh enters the classroom, a washbasin materializes and falls on his head. He goes to take a seat next to Priecia and a swinging blade almost kills him. He thinks aloud how dangerous the school is as he dodges it on the rebound and sits down.

Fel immediately runs up to him and starts chattering onward with her ears waving. Hyaweh is intrigues and grabs her ears in curiosity (YES!). As Fel tries to extract herself, a giant bell falls on them.

Later, Fel and Hyaweh are bandaged and in the lunchroom with Bridget. Hyaweh excuses himself, leaving Bridget and Fel to eat. He heads over to hit on/have lunch with Hyaweh. He compliments her fighting, but she throws her milk in his face.

Priecia’s cronies watch angrily at how he’s treating her and decide to talk to her about it. After lunch, they ambush Priecia with their fanclub bandanas and lay down the three laws that they’ll abide by in protecting her. She blows them off and keeps walking, but notices that there’s someone in the courtyard with them. The girls are just ecstatic that she talked to them.

Hyaweh naps in the courtyard. He hears a distressed girl running up the path who falls and drops her books and notes all over the place. He picks up her book and asks her if she’s looking for her mother… to her annoyance. He wipes off her tears and she says that she’s the teacher Litte. He thinks that she’s joking, but she gets in his face. He falls over in disbelief, further invoking her rage, ending with him being punished with the usual buckets of water treatment.

After class, the Priecia fanclub keeps watch over Hyaweh and does their already hackneyed routine of protecting Priecia’s life and honor by taking down Hyaweh.

Hyaweh wonders about dinner when he gets beaned with a Prism. He picks it up, and it contains a message… in GERMAN.

GERMAN.

What the bloody hell?

Prism Ark has transcended the Engrish boundary and gone into Germanish. It’s supposedly a message from Priecia to meet him in the forest. He gets there, and the fangirls attack him. He pretty easily dodges them, so they back off for a moment. He tries to figure out what they’re doing, and they say that it’s all for Priecia.

They use their Maiden Hurrican attack to try to corner him, but he springs off one’s head to dodge the followup shot. He’s in a bad spot and can’t dodge the third’s attack… but in the flash of a blade, Priecia appears and saves his ass.

She turns her sword on the girls and chases them away. She says it doesn’t mean anything, she just doesn’t want others to fight her battles.

Suddenly, a flash of knives appears thrown at them. The two dodge and Hyaweh grabs the dropped sword. The two stand back to back as ninja appear from all over. They start to fight and then the leader appears and engages Priecia. She fights him evenly, but then they begin a mad rush.

Arrows rain down on the ninja blasting them back. A priestess appears standing on a tree with a bow. The head ninja orders a retreat and they all disappear. The girl leaps down and hugs Prieica.

  • Knowngni says:

Way off from the game but its still enjoyable. I think they’re just going to keep it as a school life anime.

  • dangan says:

    wonder who is that girl?

  • Aroduc says:

It’s Priecia’s childhood friend, Kagura. I was just being overly dramatic. She’s listed as such on all the game/show character templates. Hell, they spoil stuff about Hell on the anime’s character template.

  • selkirk says:

Wait, childhood friend? When did they ever say that?

  • Aroduc says:

Meh. It’s late and I was tired. Friend and often attempted moreso then. :P

  • Kabitzin says:

Man, this animation looks like it is getting a lot worse…
