It comes as no surprise to me that my weakness as a magical girl is an overwillingness to commit to the Divine Buster.

I’ll have a much more detailed writeup in a day or two after I have a chance to go over the manual and figure out what I’m actually doing. Suffice it to say, it’s everything that I had hoped it to be and there’s nothing more satisfying that teleporting behind a Dragon Slaving Lina/Divine Bustering Nanoha and then inflicting your own. I think Nanoha has the edge just because it is so goddamn hard to get out of the way of her Axel Shooter. The difference between the two characters so far is that Nanoha’s spells (Accel Shooter and Divine Buster) can all be cast immediately, but power up significantly if you hold them (her third is Protection Powered, a stronger version of the normal shield which can be held as you move). Lina can move and even attack while she’s casting her spells, but can’t cast them until they finish charging, which makes her a lot more vulnerable to having her big damage be interrupted… and makes her nigh worthless in 4 way matches.

Anyway, like I said, more in a day or two. It is a wonderful wonderful thing though, and I can’t wait for Fate, Sakura, and the mystery girls to show up.
