Those poor stupid birds.

Impressions:

Well, let’s start with the good. I rather liked the scoring. Especially the piano tunes were soothing and relaxing. It was also very well drawn and animated. Backgrounds were full and vibrant, characters moved dynamically and even the CG tree looked good. There were almost no shots that seemed to be thrown in just to eat up some extra time or because they convserving the budget.

That said, very little happened to draw me in. The highlight of the episode was whose-her-face harassing the poor chickens. They’re just stupid birds, why do you have to hiss at them and try to send them into a panic? Later, something broke in and killed one and that was the big drama for the episode. The preview for the next episode looked like they’re setting chicken girl aside for the time being to move on to the next one too, which seems a little weird after spending half the episode on her without really going anywhere.

If they come up with something a bit more compelling than dead pets, then this could pick up. It apparently has the money and direction behind it, but the writing just didn’t pull me in. We’ll see where this one goes, but since Omni already looks like he’s got this one covered and Kimikiss is probably all the romantic drama that I can stomach for Saturdays, don’t count on me following this one with baited breath.
