Hatenkou Yuugi #03 — Rahzel the Stampede

January 18th, 2008

The sixty billion double dollar girl.

Impressions:

I’m already getting tired of Rahzel’s "life is precious" schtick. An insane French puppeteer is keeping a body in a tank, the body just strangled Miss Crazy, and now you’re getting uppity when Alzeid goes to put a bullet in its forehead? Are you kidding me? I’m all for equal rights for the undead, but come on girl, there’s a line where you have to just give up and put a bullet in some zombie head. Brain eating is not something that’s going to be cured no matter how much you cry at the disgusting flesh eaters.

I couldn’t help but think about Fire Emblem during the little Mexican standoff. Yup, that’s right; melee trumps ranged trumps magic trumps melee. I’m not quite sure how puppeteer woman was making Rahzel use her magic or turned Baroqueheat’s arm back into the sword, but I guess it’d have been a lot less impressive if they just pointed their arms at eachother while Alzeid had a gun. Unfortunately, the animation was about as poor as last episode with much of the same poor direction. During the middle of the fight scene with the clown puppets, Baroqueheat stopped, gave a speech about his perfect balance, shimmied up a ladder (propped against nothing), transformed his arm, and attacked another puppet. All the rest apparently just stood around and watched to see what the big deal was. They also patiently waited for Rahzel to smack around Baroqueheat and Alzeid when they showed up to save her.

Hmmm… maybe the evil strangling fleshripper was worth saving after all, given how considerate it was to them.

Preview:

Rahzel slaps up some tomboy and spelunking fun.

The woman is not the ‘puppeteer’ so to speak – it’s the undead boy in the tank. It has the power to control people and object, but lacking a soul, it has no will of its own. So when Rahzel say ‘stop’, it stopped. When the crazy woman say ‘kill someone’, it killed her, etc.

Yes yes. It was still her little ‘pet’ and she was still the one giving all the “dance for me, puppets” speeches. I think that qualifies her.

I think Rahzel was reacting on a very personal level to the idea of killing the child even if he was a zombie-monster. Remember her flashback sequences? She was taken to the forest and abandoned. Why would someone abandon a child in the forest? Most likely to let Mother Nature kill the child. Why kill a child? Perhaps that someone thought of her as a monster as well. After Alzeid killed the child, Rahzel said that she didn’t see it as a monster, she saw it only as a crying child. In other words, she saw herself in that situation. Given her history, I can see her wanting to save the life of any child, even one thought of as monster by others.

I have never been to a circus before in my life. I did almost go when I was like 6 but there was no room for any more ppl in the tent. I kinda don’t want to go now. I’m afeard of clowns. Yes, it is all in my mind but I believe that no one in their right mind would want to put that much make-up on just to entertain. Either that or they’re serial killers or pedophiles.
