Rental Magica #17 — Addie Strikes First

Impressions:

Eh… guess I had the time to cover both after all. Take that, Superbowl!

Another Addie episode featuring Clive Rowland who went after Goetia and usurped her creatures for his own purposes. After Itsuki got himself beaten up protecting her, she stripped him and had some cuddle time while patching him up. Then they confront Clive as he summons some sort of huge conglomeration of the beasties which immediately kills him. A very poorly done fight scene later, Addie tries to pull control back, but because Itsuki touched it earlier, he’s linked to it. Addie bites her lip to draw blood and then kisses him to force her blood into him. He distracts it with a slightly better fight scene and then Addie dilutes Clive’s seal and wrests control back with Itsuki’s help.

MMmmmmm bloody kisses. I guess it’s better than slashing a wrist and forcing Itsuki to drink the blood. It was a decent episode, though the overly romantic overtures are out of place in the series since Itsuki is as thick as a post and will probably have forgotten locking lips by the start of the next episode. At least he seems semi-able to fight nowadays. How he’s generating these energy blasts is beyond me, but they are insinuating that they’re a result of Sekiren’s training, so go Sekiren. I don’t think I have too much else to say since I’ve got to run and there really was very little actual plot development this episode.

    I’m still rooting for Kuroha, since she’s still the only real non-insane/obsessive member of Itsuki’s harem, and… yeah, he’ll pretty much forget about the kiss.

    How did he come by those energy blasts? last episode after a few weeks of training (and his eye talking to him) he was suddenly abble to shoot energy out of his hands

    He’s able to use the techniques like a hundred times more effectively when he accepts the eye’s power basically.

    During training he’s relying on his own magic power so you see only tiny amounts of energy.

    In the battle in the previous ep as well as this one though, he uses the power of the eye.

    GO ADDY…he won’t forget this kiss…that’s for sure… In episode where Addy maries Honami…when she starts to cry, Itsuki stands up and he stops the weding… He likes Adelicia the most… Also during their weding you can see Itskuie’s and Addy’s kisses and hugs///
