Battle Moon Wars Act III First Impressions
May 12th, 2007
I am the Bone of My Super Robot Sword.
The oft-delayed Battle Moon Wars Act III finally got released, and I’ve got about 30 minutes to take caps and mess around before I need to go head to a sports bar and drink and eat wings. Yeah, my life is pretty rough.
Promo for BMW-III Showcasing the Newbies
To refresh your memory, when last we left our heroes, Akiha, Ciel and Magical Girl Eclipse (Arcueid) had busted out the first combination attack of the series, followed by Sacchin finally snapping out of it, only to get stabbed and tossed off a bridge by Nanaya and my personal little godly Real-Type Shiki soon followed her, at least in the Super path. I’m not actually certain if I’ve ever finished the Real path of BMW2. Something about being forced to use Shirou grates on my soul.
Apparently the first new thing to Battle Moon Wars 3 is a screen where Rin tells you about your system requirements. I’m underimpressed. In the game proper… stage 1 has the maid duo fighting…
Yes… Saber. Note the change in the interface though, things are “X’d” out instead of just vanished. The walking/running around speed is also about three times as fast. Mmmmmm… playability improvements. The music is also a bit more fleshed out and ‘fuller’ for lack of a better word. Or maybe I’m just hallucinating. Hisui still has her bizarre Post-6,7 attack though. So strange.
Ooooooh! One of our first new enemies! It tries to get the drop on poor Ren, and gets a Hisui/Kohaku combo attack in response.
And here’s our first new stage proper.
Still the same old wet dreams from Ren.
Poor guy probably didn’t even know what hit him. I’m gonna love abusing this combo attack.
Alright, That’s stage 1 of Act III in a nutshell. More later, especially once I get the newbies. I gotta go. There be wings and beer waiting my presence.
