Someday’s Dreamers ~ The Summer Sky #01 — Contains Nipples

July 2nd, 2008

Weren’t expecting that, were you?

Impressions:

Honestly. On a day with two Chinese mythology girl fighting shows and freakin’ Slayers, this stands no chance in the Aroduc world. I’m not even certain I’d watch it anyway, but against competition like that, it’s doomed. Doomed. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

I should say something before kicking you over to Totali though. It seems like a decent sort of show if you like these slower paced deals where nothing really happens and it takes a very long time to do so. The photographic blending makes things look pretty nice most of the time. I’m not a huge fan because of the almost constant hiccups between the background being more detailed than the characters themselves, but it certainly looks pretty for most of the time. It’s a good thing too since at least half the show is just shots of scenery and the like. The montage OP annoys me, as all montage OPs do and the scene where Sora was eating with her mother featured all sorts of curious facial distortions that were completely out of place. The music was nice and relaxing, but on the other hand, I really did feel like I was falling asleep.

At any rate, this isn’t even close to my kind of show, and up against Sekirei and Slayers on Wednesdays (and once I’m forced to start going to sleep at a reasonable hour next week, probably IkkiTousen too), there’s just absolutely no way I’d even dream of touching this. It’s right up Totali’s alley though and he seems to be enjoying it, so I’ll just point you over towards him and nonchalantly go back to my girly girls and explosions. Nothing to see here.

These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

Move along.

Preview:

The preview was literally just 5 scenery shots. That sort of summarizes why I don’t like shows like this.

    That’s a little different, isn’t it? lol

    Bastard, I got tricked.

Back to translating this anime for my fansub group.

I am watching the first series on Netflix…this looks coot too.

I think the slower moving series I prefer watching dubbed, cause then I can draw while I watch and I get all inspired. (I drew some aweseom are while watching Mushi-Shi…that show really takes you somewhere else.)

  • Twirble says:

aweseom art, sorry, I didn’t spell check.

  • Rincewind says:

Hmmm… this is a second season, a remake or an alternate universe of the old Someday Dreamers?
