Fists mean love… in more than one way.

Wow. Busy freakin’ day, and I haven’t even touched the Seinarukana fandisc yet, nor has an IkkiTousen raw appeared. Crazy freakin’ cable stations. Also, I have no clue how to number this.

Impressions:

First off, it’s been a long while since I’ve watched School Rumble, but in that two minute recap of the entire freakin’ series, there were definitely some scenes I don’t remember, like Harima accidently handcuffing and then kissing Yakumo. Granted, I don’t follow the manga or the DVD releases, but I think I’d remember something like that. Second, mad points for using the first season’s OP and ED (Scramble and Onna no Ko; Otoko no Ko respectively). Scramble was more or less unchanged except for a few different stills, but they used the whole female cast and all sorts of new stuff for OnKOnK.

The start of the episode was your pretty usual School Rumble humor, and I was laughing right along with it. Then things turned all dramatic and lame. We’ve been over this ground many many times before, usually in the form of Harima’s comic, parodying the situation. Now we get to rehash it again in ‘real’ life through a manly fight to the finish between Harima and Karasuma over making Tenma happy for like… the fifth time in the show, only this time longer, and there’s no joke "he’s really an alien" at the end of it.

Oh well, Tenma makes a funny (and angry) drunk at least. I’m not sure how she got tipsy on soda, but I’m sure her mind is a dangerous place anyway. Mostly what this episode was missing was Eri. At least we had her singing the OP. Otherwise, there was a criminal lack of the twin tailed blonde lovely lady. That better be fixed for the next one, dammit. I could also use a little more focus on the art budget too for that matter. There were a few shots that were just terrible.

Redone OnKOnK
